Update

Wow! It seemed like the holidays flew by so fast and now that we have finally slowed down, I wander did we take it all in and as I look back at some of my post, I know that the answer is "no!" And, it seems like the holidays provide so many opportunities for pictures that I always make sure that the camera is charged. Now that I am no longer planning ahead and am just flying by the seat of my pants, I am finding myself behind. So..... I will do better with the camera but in the meantime here is a quick update. Christmas was a blast! Grant loves all of his toys and Barry is loving having all of the boy stuff around. The other nice thing is that Grant and Olivia got several of the same things so they always feel right at home no matter where they are playing. Madi, is quite the big girl with her i-pod and i-dog. She has danced to Hannah Montana and HSM until I can't stand it. I often find myself riding down the road singing the songs and then I just stop and laugh. She also has a Nintendo DS and we just bought a new game for it. We bought Super Mario Brothers. This is more on her level because it requires no reading but there is still one problem. Barry and I used to play this on the old Nintendo and now at night one of us is always pouting becuase the other has the DS. I think to solve the problem we will hook up the old school Nintendo in our room and have Mario wars at night. Sounds fun huh? As for Barry and me, we showered each other with too much stuff but we are very technologically hip now. Barry loves his new GPS and I love my embroidery machine. I am running out of things to embroider and Barry is afraid that his underwear is going to be next. I will let you know if I get creative with that. As for our health Madi and I seem to be the healthiest. She must definitely take after me. Grant has had several bouts with ear infections but thanks to Dr. Salley we are now writing more checks to medicus, but the tubes have definitely helped. Grant also battled several viruses but now is full speed ahead, babbles all the time, crawls too fast, loves Tupperware, is biting and finally is fun, fun, fun. Madi is growing into quite the dancing diva! She prances around and has a dance for everything. She also thinks she runs a daycare so if you call our house and someone answers Seneca Baptist Day Care, don't hang up but please don't try to drop your kid off either. Just ask if we have any openings, Madi loves this and then she will let you talk to someone else. Barry is keeping busy at the cliffs and has several small jobs going right now. We are so lucky that in these difficult times he still has work. As for me, I continue to teach four year olds all day, and find myself constantly laughing at the things they say. The recent election has brought the most humor I think. Finally, I still have my cheerleaders which Barry will always hate but Madi will always love. Oh, well. I hope you have enjoyed this update in words. Maybe now I can soon update in pictures. Love to you all!!!!!

Gingerbread houses at the O'briens

On Sunday our friends the O'briens hosted a group of girls and their mothers to their house to decorate Gingerbread houses. Here are some pictures of the fun times and each girl and their mom. We are looking forward to this Monday when we will decorate cookies and make ornaments. What fun!

Recently we had the Seneca Christmas parade. Here are Madi and her friends who all danced to Mariah Carey a thousand and fifty times (or at least that is what it felt like). They all did a great job since this was their first year walking and not riding. They all made it half way.

Christmas Pictures

Well, we did it! On only one try we successfully came away with a Christmas Card picture after a trip to Cross Creek on Wednesday. Here are a few of the cute pictures that we ended up with. I won't tell you which one I am using so that it will be a surprise. Merry Christmas!

Madi

Madi and Barry spent the whole day working in the yard the other day. Madi was most excited to play in the leaves. I thought these were cute pictures.

Thanksgiving 2008

We are so thankful to be able to spend three days at Barry's parents for Thanksgiving. The kids had a great time as well as the adults. It is always exciting when we all get together. And once again we had a great Thanksgiving complete with my favorite food, sweet potato pie (minus the sweet potato) just the topping! Grant just loved his uncle Nick at Thanksgiving. Uncle Nick was the only person that Grant would crawl to so that he could be picked up.
Big cousin Nicholas was the best babysitter. He played with Grant the whole time and taught him a lot. I know that Grant is going to look up to him when he gets bigger.
Yippee!
Madi and Cayman stayed outside from sun up to sun down. Pa gave made them a leaf pile for them to jump and play in. They loved being able to get all dirty and not get in trouble. Madi and Cayman (Cay Cay) are definately best buddies.

Grant

The "big guy" playing!
Grant loves to take wagon rides in the yard with Madi.
Yum, Yum! Grant loves to eat!
I just can't believe how fast Grant is growing. He is mobil now and into everything. Here are just a few new pictures of him. Isn't he cute.
